MON-877Ø5-6 - Vistive Gold™ Soybean| Monsanto | Changes in quality and/or metabolite content (Lipid and fatty acids), Resistance to herbicides (Glyphosate)
- https://food.fda.moph.go.th/bch/soybean 15-05 [ English ]
Soybean event MON87705 has been genetically modified to express CP4 EPSPS protein which confers tolerance to the glyphosate herbicide, and the use of endogenous soybean gene segments (FATB1-A and FAD2-1A gene segments) to suppress two endogenous genes encoding key enzymes expression (FATB and FAD2 gene encoding enzymes involved in fatty acid biosynthesis), via the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, thereby the fatty acid composition ratio was changed with increasing levels of oleic acid in seed. According to the existing scientific data and information available during the safety assessment, it is concluded that the soybean event MON87705is substantially equivalent to its conventional counterpart in terms of morphology, toxicity, allergenicity and nutrition except for the intended changes compositions and did not reveal other differences of any biological or nutritional significance.
